We Had… The Best Café Food and Drink in Perth (Well that’s what we thOUGHT)
Back in 2014 the FurBaby dream was created. We wanted to be the first dog cafe with a Chef and a fully commercial kitchen. We did that, and it was amazing! We even gained special permission to be able to sit inside with your dog whilst eating your food. People were able to come in with their dogs and have a full big breakfast, with sausages, eggs, hash browns, bacon and lots of other yummy things, and the best was… people could bring their dog with them too! For five years, FurBaby Cafe hosted guests and served up delicious meals and barista made coffee. It was something special, and we were very fortunate to have FurBaby Cafe, something we will remember forever. Then, 2020 came, and the covid pandemic, FurBaby never recovered from the economic toll it took, and closed it’s Cafe.
But, lucky for us, we are now able to visit other dog friendly cafes with our own pups on teh weekends, so we don’t miss out on the joy of taking our four legged best friend for a coffee. These are some of our favourite cafes to visit on the weekend…
Elixir Cafe
Wanneroo
OMD (Ohhh-Myyyy-Dooogg)!! By far the bestest cafe, and the most amazing puppy menu too! We adore Elixir Cafe, we love the food, we worship the coffee, and our dogs lick their chops for their treats! If you are after an amazing meal, where your dog is welcomed, we can’t recommend Elixir Cafe Enough!
Little T’s Cafe
Balcatta
If you’re a local, and looking for a FurBaby Cafe replacement, look no further than Little T’s. This new cafe has the best coffee! We’re already addicted! It has a big beautiful undercover outdoor area where your furbaby is more than welcome to join you for breakfast or lunch. It’s really yummy, you’ll just have to check it out for yourself!
Little Nolla Cafe
Nollamara
This quaint little café has opened up relatively close to FurBaby, in our neighbourhood. It serves a delicious coffee and treats to delight your tastebuds, but the best is they have treats for your dogs too, if you sit outside. All the FurBaby team get their daily coffee from Little Nolla, so if you see us there, say hi!
Blue Lotus Cafe
Stirling
Set in the picturesque gardens of Waldecks Nursery, this café is an oasis from the outside world. You can sit with your dog and watch the koi in the pound, whilst enjoying a delicious coffee. It is something to see. Then, after your meals your dog will enjoy smelling all the wonderful plants in nursery.
Steam Haus
Maylands
The rustic and spacious back verandah of Steam Haus is the perfect setting for some quality bonding time with your pup. They sell treats for your fur babies and donate all proceeds to the Greyhound Rescue organisation.
Casa Bianchi
Mount Hawthorn
This neighbourhood cafe in the heart of Mount Hawthorn loves dogs almost more than they love people. Nestled in amongst the trees and water features, it’s a lovely setting for a day out with your pooch. We adore the food here too!
The Orange Box
Leighton Beach
This kiosk is completely alfresco, and with the beach only 50 meters away, it’s the perfect pit-stop to fuel up after you’ve taken the dog for a walk. There’s plenty of space and seating, from hanging hammocks, beach chairs and an oval right out the front for your pooch to run around on while you sip your morning coffee.
Yelo
Trigg & Mount Hawthorn
The verandah of Yelo can often be seen covered with locals and their dogs, taking in the view of the ocean and the sea breeze in the afternoon. With plenty of space for your dog to hang out the front, this little cafe is a convenient pit stop when you’re out taking the pooch for a walk along the coast.
Babylon Cafe
Leederville
Babylon’s insta features pups of every variety soaking up the sunshine in their beautiful courtyard, which is covered in colourful wall art and shaded by beautiful trees. The team here is dishing out toasties for brekky and a good cup of coffee—what more could you need?
Canteen
Trigg Beach
Serving up some of the best breakfast going around from their little shack with views of Trigg Beach, Canteen provides plenty of alfresco dining options that are dog-friendly, so that you and your pooch can enjoy brekky together.
Daisies
Cottesloe
Everyone’s favourite neighbourhood haunt in Cottesloe does healthy takeaway food (like chia pods to lunch boxes) just as well as they do comfort foods like baked bean jaffles, bacon ‘n’ egg muffins and sausage rolls. With a sunny alfresco area and a patch of lawn right next to the tables, bringing your dog with you for breakfast is most certainly encouraged at Daisies.
Boo Espresso
North Perth
Puppycinos for your pooch! For reals. This dog-friendly cafe in Perth makes their puppycinos with lactose free milk so you don’t have to worry about your little friend getting sick. Boo is the perfect place to stop in once you’ve tired your pup out with a run around the park across the road.
Rise & Grind
Doubleview
The crew at Rise & Grind will probably be more obsessed with your dog than you are, so take your pooch here when they deserve some extra loving and you need a good fat feed. The sweet treats here will blow your mind, just be sure to eat them before your dog can!
The Little Pantry
Subiaco
Nab a table outside and have breakfast with the pooch. The food here is epic and the owner will spot your dog and be out for a chat in no time. She might even bring your pup a treat if they’re lucky!
Little Shop Of Plenty
Maylands
Little Shop Of Plenty is dishing out all of the healthy treats, for you and your pooch. Choc full of vegetarian superfoods, there are always plenty of pups around looking for a pat so take yours down and share the love.
